Dear teenage me,Walk gently on the earth, my young teenage recovery warrior. Embrace who you truly are—not the masks you wear in the dance of youth. Remember, ‘Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.’—Oscar Wilde spoke the truth. Don’t burden your spirit with the weight of pretending to be someone you are not.You are enough, exactly as you are—worthy of respect, love, and joy. If I could guide you away from one path, it would be the path that leads to drinking. It’s a road that promises escape but leads to a maze of shadows. Instead, choose paths that strengthen your spirit and connect you deeply with our community and your inner wisdom.Take your steps thoughtfully when you reach the sacred act of sharing your wrongs, as taught in Step 5. Choose someone wise and compassionate for this sharing—someone who honours your voice and your truth and who supports your journey back to the circle of wellness without judgment.Life will teach you many lessons; welcome them. Mistakes are the fire that tempers your spirit—learn from them and let them forge you stronger and wiser.
