Reflecting on my journey in recovery, I remember a time when I was overwhelmed and uncertain. Back then, I didn't fully understand the importance of “If you want to conquer fear, don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy,” as Dale Carnegie said.There are so many things I would change if I could go back.When I started my recovery journey years ago, I was lost and struggling to find my way.I didn't know how powerful community and support could be in my healing process.Before I made the decision to commit fully to my recovery, I felt alone and disconnected from my true self.I remember looking in the mirror and seeing someone who barely recognized themselves.The funny thing is, we can't change yesterday, but we can learn from it. And that's perfectly okay.Part of reaching our goals and milestones is appreciating the journey that brought us here. The other part is seizing the opportunities we have right now. Even if life hands us challenges, we can find ways to transform them into strengths.Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
