In our journey under the great sky, through the forests and across the rivers of life, there come times when the path vanishes beneath our feet when the light dims, and the heart grows weary. I've walked these shadowed paths, and felt the weight of despair whispering that the journey is too great, that my spirit is too small. But in these moments, I turn to the ancient wisdom of our people, to the practices that reconnect us to the earth, to the Creator, and to the community that walks with us.When I find myself ensnared by thorns of doubt and fear, here is what I do to find my way back to the path:<ul><li>I Pray: In the simplicity of prayer, I seek the voice of the Creator, asking not for signs or wonders but simply for guidance on what I am to be in this moment of my journey. This prayer need not be elaborated; its power lies in its sincerity, in the opening of my heart to the wisdom that whispers in the wind and dances in the fire's flame.</li><li>I Reach Out: The strength of our community is our greatest asset. I reach out not just to share my burdens, but to listen, to connect, and to remember that I am not alone. This might mean speaking to a trusted friend or elder or sometimes simply interacting with another soul, even in brief exchanges in the everyday moments of life, such as a smile shared in passing or a kind word exchanged at a gathering place.</li><li>I Walk With the Earth: There is healing in the embrace of nature, in the rhythm of the earth beneath my feet, and in the chorus of life that fills the air. A walk in the natural world is a return to the beginning, a reminder of the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth that frames our existence. It is here, amid the trees and the streams, that I find my balance restored and my spirit renewed.</li></ul>I know the struggle, the feeling of being lost, and the shadow of surrender. But I also know that there is a way through the darkness, that within us and around us are endless sources of strength, wisdom, and hope.Those negative whispers are but echoes of fear, drowned out by the song of our ancestors and the call of our destiny.
