Me: "Alright, I need to finish this client project and write a blog post... but first, let me just check Instagram and watch this YouTube video real quick."Before I knew it, two hours had slipped away, and I hadn't even started the project or the post. I was just drifting through my day with no purpose.Thankfully, I've turned that around.We all get sidetracked by distractions that don't add to our journey. Sometimes, to be honest, I seek out these distractions because thinking deeply can be tough. But when it’s time to get serious about my goals, I realize how precious my time is, and I can't afford to waste it on activities that don't help me grow.Now, when I need a break, I choose positive activities that keep me centred:Meditating and practicing gratitudeexercising and runningGetting outside in natureWorking on creative projectsThese practices help me regain my focus and be more effective in my work.If the news is distracting you, turn it off.If social media is stealing your time, stop scrolling.If repetitive conversations are going nowhere, stop talking.You hold the power to change.Join our free online community or download our free Indigenous Self-Care Guide.
