There’s always time for an adventure, right?Recently, I moved closer to my hometown!I know what you’re thinking. I must be out of my mind.But it was an excellent learning experience.And the number one lesson it taught me was that it is true that it is harder to help your own people. I had to make the decision to move back to where I lived before or move to a location where I had only driven through. I chose these two locations because I believe that is where the greatest need is to help Indigenous people. I thought I would choose to be with my own people because I was afraid of being rejected by strangers. As it turns out, it feels like I am being more rejected by my own people. If I had to make the decision all over again, I would have still made the same choice. In the end, it will be the right choice. I just need those with whom I am trying to work to see that this was the right decision. Because now I have a lot of “active” recovery experiences to cope with the sea of negativity. The Creator prepared me well for this season of my life.It’s for this reason that I would highly encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and say yes to every adventure, even though it may appear at times that you have made the wrong decision.Would you ever move back to your hometown?
