Let's talk about comparisons.There are countless sayings and old proverbs from people who lived hundreds and thousands of years before us, all saying nearly the same thing:Comparing yourself to others can do nothing but harm.However, they probably didn't experience the pressure of comparison as much as we do. The rise of social media during this digital era has made it way more difficult not to see how 'green' the grass is on the other side.In fact, everywhere we look, we are constantly bombarded with people doing better, looking better, and feeling better, which makes it easy for someone to get discouraged or feel like they’re not as ‘good’.&nbsp;But there's something important to remember: Nobody started out where you are, and nobody had the same exact factors influencing their journey, but you...When I first started my recovery journey, I did not know where it could lead or more importantly, what it could lead to. It has led to so much more than I anticipated. My belief is that it can lead to much more than you anticipate. That is my hope and wish. That you do twice as much as me in half the time.Everything I’ve gained and accomplished, I owe to the Creator. I thank Him every day for His work in my life. Now I want to share my knowledge with other "Recovery Warriors" trying to be better people than they were yesterday. My belief is that I am nothing special, so if I can do it, you can easily do it as well. I just want to share how I did it so you can learn from my example.In many of my teachings in my online course, I continuously iterate that I believe you need to find your own tracks. All I am saying is that let's pick a direction that we can travel together for the first two years and travel down that path until you are able to eke out your own path. This may take some time to figure out, but we want to make sure that whatever journey you choose, you are going forward on a solid "Active Recovery" foundation.What do you think about comparing, and how do you overcome it?
